Hello 2022! With new measures and yet another round of uncertainty, nobody can picture what 2022 will be like but some of the hospitality venues of the islands are planning to welcome in the first day of the year with live music.

At Sarah’s Jazz Club, the satisfying sounds of Blues will fill the air on January 1, when the fantastic local blues band Zilla Project take the stage with their signature sound. From 9.30pm onwards, the band will play original compositions as well as electrified versions of well-known blues classics in an energetic and supercharged two-hour set. Doors open an hour before the live music starts for some light nibbles and drinks while Emmanuel Vourakis, Loizos Pafitis and Stefanos Meletiou prepare to take the stage.

Over in Larnaca, Saturday’s entertainment at Savino Live is a rockin’ live music set. Local band Speak in Whispers will play a late-night set at 11pm to welcome in the New Year with heavy rock and metal. Formed in Larnaca in late 2017, band members Andreas Spyrou, Alex Iacovou, Antonis Koumbari, Deniel Pavlovskiy and Andreas Hadjipandelis prepare for a special performance in the band’s hometown.

For more electro-techno fun, Dusty Munky in Limassol is organising the Paradox New Year’s Day from 6pm onwards. Paradox is a series of electronic music events in Cyprus that will form a key element of an emerging subculture that appreciates dance music and open, outrageous celebrations. The line-up for January 1 includes DJs Highjacks, Baroque, Antony k and Dalton, swinging into 2022 with funky electro tunes.
