Health Minister Michalis Hadjipantelas will meet the scientific advisory committee on the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic on Tuesday to discuss new relaxations ahead of the Easter Holidays, amid an improving epidemiological situation.
Hadjipantelas is scheduled to meet the team on 16:00 local time, in Nicosia, with experts noting that the Covid-19 outlook in Cyprus is the best in the last five months, which allows the implementation of new relaxations. The Committee’s suggestions will be tabled by the Minister of Health to the Council of Ministers meeting, to be held on Wednesday.
Sources told CNA that the abolition of restrictions concerning the number of persons at gatherings is considered certain, as well as the abolition of health protocols concerning children under three.
Scientists are also expected to table their suggestions whether new adjustments should be implemented concerning the classification of business activities from high risk to medium risk and from medium risk to low risk.
The meeting is expected to discuss further changes in restaurants so there would be no distinction between high and low risk establishments.
