Police on Monday arrested two suspects, aged 20 and 21, wanted since December for dangerous driving and causing traffic accidents.

According to police statement, the two are facing charges for illegal possession of ammunition and various traffic offences.

The case developed on December 22 when Paphos police spotted a car driving recklessly within the city, having previously caused a series of traffic accidents. Police chased the driver who crashed into two other moving vehicles in the course of the pursuit.

When the vehicle was subsequently halted, both the driver and the passenger fled, abandoning the car and a bag containing 18 full military-issue cartridges.

Arrest warrants had been issued against the two men who were located and taken into custody on Monday.

The case is under ongoing investigation.
