Cyprus pitches humanitarian corridor in meeting with UK defence minister

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos met with  British Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps on Wednesday, during the latter’s visit to Cyprus.

Kombos described the meeting as “productive”, adding they had discussed developments in the Middle East and Cyprus’ initiative for a maritime corridor for providing humanitarian relief to civilians in Gaza.

Shapps visited the RAF bases in Akrotiri, where he said he wished staffers a Happy Christmas.

His trip to Cyprus is part of a regional tour, during which he will also visit  Palestine and Israel. He is being accompanied on the visits by head of the British Armed Forces Admiral Sir Tony Radkin.
