Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas on Monday will attend the 80th memorial of the Holocaust, in Krakow, Poland.
According to a post on X, the minister will represent President Nikos Christodoulides at the commemorative events.
Survivors of Auschwitz will gather at the site of the Nazi death camp on Monday as the world marks the 80th anniversary of its liberation in the final months of World War II.
Around 50 ex-inmates are expected to attend the ceremony outside the historic gate of Auschwitz II-Birkenau alongside numerous state leaders and dignitaries, including including German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, King Charles III, and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The ceremony is set to start at 15:00 GMT (5pm Cyprus time) and 54 international delegations are expected.
Organisers said it could be the last major anniversary with such a large group of survivors able to attend.
