Police are investigating attempted murder, after a 31-year-old was hospitalised in Paphos for leg injuries from shrapnel when two people allegedly shot at his feet during a mugging.
The police are looking for a 33-year-old foreigner, permanent resident of Cyprus. An arrest warrant has already been obtained.
The man is wanted for conspiracy to commit a crime, attempted murder, robbery, kidnapping and the illegal possession and transportation of a firearm and ammunition.
Investigations are continuing at the scene of the shooting, near the Asprokremmos reservoir. So far, seven cartridges have been found.
The police received a complaint at around 2am that the man was injured in Mandria, Paphos.
The 31-year-old, who had troubled the police in the past, said the two perpetrators, who took his mobile phone and wallet, shot at his feet, according to Reporter website.
Police investigations are ongoing.
