The Cyprus Real Estate Agents Registration Council on Wednesday announced that 90 candidates sat its latest written examinations on October 30, reflecting what it described as strong interest among newcomers in entering the property profession.

The council said the level of participation highlighted the appeal of estate agency as a career and the prospects offered by the sector.

“The strong interest among candidates demonstrates in practice that estate agency remains an attractive profession with significant prospects,” said council president Marinos Kineyirou.

He explained that the council’s written examinations, which are conducted in accordance with the relevant legislation, were intended to safeguard professional standards and ensure that newcomers possessed the necessary knowledge before entering the market.

Through the examination process, the council sought to ensure that new professionals understood Cyprus’ property and town planning legislation, which Kineyirou described as essential for carrying out their duties properly and responsibly.

“This knowledge is essential for the proper and responsible practice of the estate agency profession,” he said.

Kineyirou added that the requirements were designed to protect the rights and interests of both buyers and sellers, by ensuring that registered professionals had the necessary legal knowledge.

The council said the examination results would be announced once the assessment of the written papers had been completed.

All candidates who took part will be informed of their results directly by the Cyprus Real Estate Agents Registration Council, the announcement concluded.
