Ceramist Vassos Demetriou is organising the 5th experimental ceramic workshop in the village of Androlykou. A week of clay creations and learning about the various techniques is what the workshop is all about. Split into two weeks, the first group of participants will meet at the Paphos village on June 21 and 26 while the second group will gather later on, from July 5 to 10.

Throughout the five days of each workshop, students will explore hand-building ceramics with local clay, using primitive open fire kiln firing, learning the ancient Japanese ceramic raku technique, the iron chloride raku, terra sigillata, lusters and will fire in a wood-fire kiln. For those who have not experimented with ceramic art, the workshop itinerary possibly makes little sense but for artists interested in clay creations it can be an immersive five days.

Held in the rural village of Androlykou, just 5km from Polis Chrysochou, participants will have to arrange for accommodation at their own convenience either at local hotels, apartments, agro-tourism facilities or camping in the nearby villages. A limited number of participants will be able to join the workshop after they register through Vassos himself.
