Doesn’t a book bazaar for a good cause sound like a good idea? That is what is coming up at Yfantourgeio in July as it teams up with animal charity PAWS (Protecting Animals Without Shelter) to raise money to help dogs and cats.

On the weekend of July 3 and 4, Yfantourgeio in old Nicosia will fill with even more books than those that decorate its space, old and new, some as cheap as €1. All of the profits raised throughout the weekend will go towards the financial support of the organisation, for medical and other expenses of stray animals which are under its protection.

From 11am until 7pm both days, visitors can browse books, donate others they don’t need and purchase any, all to help animals in need. Whoever wants to donate books can do so on the day of the event and any books not sold will be used in bazaars that will follow.

“We will be waiting for you to share the memories and knowledge that books offer along with a coffee or a cup of tea at Yfantourgeio The Workplace,” the organisers say.
