After a packed agenda lasting throughout the summer with music, song, dance and theatre performances as well as film screenings, the Faneromenis21 Arts Festival is coming to an end. Two more performances remain before the festival at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation concludes another eventful edition in the heart of the city.
Among the many musical ensembles to take the stage at the festival, there is one local musician that keeps returning. Vasiliki Anastasiou and The Amalgamation Project will perform yet again this summer with their unique melodies travelling from east to west and from Mediterranean sounds to Balkan tunes. Along with the female-led choir and Vasiliki herself, more musicians will join them on September 9 with traditional songs and tales by musician Ermis Michael.
Closing the festival on September 16, the Santouto ensemble will wrap up the summer series with traditional music, inviting audiences to remember and appreciate the island’s beauty, in a concert titled The Heart’s Tale. Both performances are free to attend, as the whole festival has been, with the music beginning at 9pm. No reservations are needed as the seating works on a first-come-first-served basis.
