The health ministry announced that there had been no new deaths from Covid-19 but that 94 people had tested positive from 40,586 PCR and rapid tests, a positivity rate of 0.23 per cent.
There are 98 people in hospitals of whom 39 are in serious condition. Of these, 17 are intubated.
Total deaths remain at 547 with an average age of 76.
The ministry said that the percentage of unvaccinated patients was 78 per cent.
Of the 40,586 tests on Sunday, 4,734 were PCR and 35,852 rapid tests broken down as follows:
- 3 from 51 samples taken through contact tracing
- 9 from 2,998 airport tests
- 20 from 1,315 samples taken through private initiative.
- 11 from 308 samples taken through GP referrals
- 26 from 13,987 rapid tests at private labs and pharmacies.
- 25 from 21,865 rapid tests under the health ministry’s free testing for certain categories of people
