A 53-year-old man was murdered in central Larnaca on Tuesday evening, police said.
Police responded to reports of gunshots in the Touzhane area in central Larnaca late Tuesday night.
The man was reportedly shot outside his apartment building by gunmen who fled on a motorcycle.
Local media reported that the murder was planned and that the perpetrators had been tracking the victim’s movements.
It was also suggested that the victim had testified in a drugs case and had been the father-in-law of Marios ‘Mariouthkias’ Georgiou, who was gunned down while driving in the Pervolia area of Larnaca last spring.
State pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou are reportedly on the scene.
