Strovolos municipality to offer free parking for hybrid and electric vehicles

Strovolos municipality will grant free parking permits for low-emission hybrid cars and continue providing free parking for all electric vehicles for 2022.

The announcement by the municipality stated that following a decision of the municipal council, from January 1, 2022 until December 31, 2022, special free parking permits will be granted for municipal parking lots for hybrid vehicles, with emissions up to 50g CO2 / Km.

According to the announcement, those interested can access the information and the relevant request form through the municipality’s website or via its smartphone application.

Alternatively, the public can visit the Citizens’ Service Bureau at 100 Strovolos Avenue. Citizens need to submit their motor vehicle registration certificate along with the completed request.

The special permit will be sent by post to the applicant, who must then place it in a visible spot in the vehicle.

Furthermore, the announcement said permits for hybrid and electric vehicles expiring December 31, 2021 will be extended until March 31, 2022. Those interested and who meet the required criteria, are invited to apply.
