Toddler hospitalised in serious condition after pulled from pool

A two-year-old boy remains in a very serious condition in Makarios hospital after he was pulled out of a swimming pool, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, his parents pulled him out of the pool of their home in Paralimni unconscious at about 5 on Saturday afternoon.

Before the arrival of an ambulance, a 17-year-old student from Paralimni who was also present gave the boy first aid and was able to revive him.

The child was taken by ambulance to Famagusta hospital and then on to the Makarios hospital in Nicosia, where he remains.

Doctors there said his condition remains very serious.
