A 30-year-old man from Kyrenia was arrested on Tuesday night after having stolen his girlfriend’s mobile phone.

The man had become irate at around 1pm when, while spending time with his girlfriend at a hotel in the town, she received a text message.

He demanded to see who the message was from, and she refused, with an argument subsequently breaking out between the pair.

After the argument, he stole the phone, and she reported him to the police.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
