Cyprus Public Transport (CPT) has announced that X13, the first urban express route in Cyprus, launched in Nicosia as a pilot in December 2024, will become a permanent route as of January 7, 2025. The X13 route starts from Makarios Stadium and finishes at Solomos Square, passing by the House of Representatives and Courts.

Committed to upgrading the public transport service, CPT is now set to launch the X424 express route in Larnaca, to provide passengers with convenient and quicker options. The express route X424 will start from Pyla with final destination Larnaca Main Bus Station, and its launch date is set for January 27, 2025. Trips are increased to 34 during weekdays every 30 minutes, while on weekends there will be 16 trips.

The idea behind this new service is the same as with route X13: to go more directly and quickly from point A to B, with fewer stops, thereby reducing travel time between city points.

Cyprus Public Transport will continue to improve its services to make bus commutes even more convenient and fast, until it becomes the no. 1 alternative to car travel around and across the city.
