Where do you live?
I live luggage in hand! My home is wherever I feel I belong. If it’s not here, then I just make sure to visit. It doesn’t matter if it has wheels or wings, as long as it takes me where my soul is happy.
What did you have for breakfast?
Coffee! Toast comes later and always with good company, which makes it even tastier.
Describe your perfect day.
There is no perfect day; you create it. You create moments, memories, small joys. And if sometimes the only thing you can bear is to get out of bed and stand for a while in the sun, then, yes, this is a victory too!
Best book ever read?
Beyond doubt The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The deepest message that has become a way of life since an early age: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” This phrase underlines the meaning of emotions, love and understanding, beyond the surface of things.
Best childhood memory?
My friends who unknowingly were the light in my darkest daily moments.
What is always in your fridge?
Hmm, milk and vegetables.
What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
It depends on my mood! But whatever is playing, is playing loudly. I love orchestral pieces – they take me on a journey, they tell me stories, they make me create scenarios and entire performances in my head.
What’s your spirit animal?
I feel that two coexist within me: the phoenix, a symbol of rebirth and strength; and the lion, a leader by nature, imposing and indomitable. A combination of supremacy and rebirth!
What are you most proud of?
For my empathy – because through it I remain human.
What movie scene has really stayed with you?
There are many, but I will focus on the Oscar-worthy 2021 short film If Anything Happens I Love You. It is 12 minutes long and I watched it as an inflight movie. It was not a particular scene in these 12 minutes, but the deeper meaning that we must all keep in mind. It narrates the story of two parents grieving the loss of their daughter in a school shooting in America, showing mourning, alienation and the timeless power of love. Without dialogue, but with powerful images and music it conveys the message that love is never lost.
If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
The person is not alive and will never be… maybe my unborn child… call it an opportunity to give this child the resources I didn’t have and to equip him with virtues and values that would make him a useful person to mankind! To take care of his wings until he is able to freely enjoy the flights of his travels and to shield his soul with love and kindness! Maybe this unborn child will end up being myself… who knows?
If you could time travel when/where would you go?
To those moments when in two brown eyes I felt absolute happiness. Moments that still live within me, that travel from yesterday to today and dream of tomorrow, accompanied by a cup of plain milk.
What is your greatest fear?
That I might forget me… forget the person and the moments. That I will be forgotten is given and it hurts… to forget ‘you’ and become empty. To forget the eyes of my children, my people. To not get to live before I forget…
What would you say to your 18-year-old self?
I’m proud of you because you fought even when your soul was in pieces and you didn’t let any hand turn out your light. Now, look! You have become a lighthouse and illuminate the course of lost captains.
Name the one thing that would stop you dating someone.
If I talk about him and my soul doesn’t radiate… and even more so if when I meet him, I don’t shine from within. Radiance is born from everything else, character and behaviour!
If the world is ending in 24 hours, what would you do?
I certainly wouldn’t have time to travel the world, but I would have time to lose myself in ‘you’. Hugs, with hands intertwined, deep gazes, laughing… Let’s live as if there is no tomorrow. Because… there really won’t be.
Konstantina has won medals in ISSF World Shooting Championships and participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Of her career, she says: “I once dreamed of reaching high, of reaching peaks, of being the change in people’s lives. So, I fell in love with shooting and since then I have gained a voice! Together with my gun, I aim to do what no one did for me when I was a child. When time allows, I open my arms to those who struggle with invisible disabilities – just like me! I am a champion of change for humanity, in action!”
