A 28-year-old was found floating unconscious in the sea in the Yeroskipou area in Paphos on Sunday appears to have died from drowning, authorities said on Monday.

The man was brought out of the sea by other beachgoers, who tried to resuscitate him.

He was then taken by ambulance to Paphos general hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The official autopsy on Monday found that his death appears to be due to drowning, however, samples were taken for further scientific tests.
