A 19-year-old suffered serious injuries after the quadbike on which he was riding collided head-on with a bus in Ayia Napa, the police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at around 7.20pm on Tuesday, with the police saying that the 19-year-old was riding as a passenger on the quadbike, driven by a 20-year-old man.

Following the collision, both the driver and the passenger were taken to Famagusta general hospital in Paralimni. The driver remains there, while the passenger was then transferred to the Nicosia general hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

There, he has been intubated.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
