The Ierokipia municipality said on Wednesday that it is continuing to collect recyclable materials from homes in the villages of Yeroskipou, Koloni and Konia as part of efforts to boost recycling.
The collection teams gather PMD packaging, including plastic, metal and drink containers, as well as paper from all residences once a week.
The programme covers the borough of Yeroskipou, including Koloni, every Tuesday morning, while collections in Konia take place every Friday morning.
Residents are asked to place recyclable materials in suitable bags or bins outside their homes the evening before or early on the morning of the collection day to ensure timely collection.
The municipality said public participation is important for strengthening recycling, protecting the environment and improving quality of life in the area.
It added that the goal is to expand the programme to other areas within the municipality’s boundaries, including the villages of Timi, Ayia Marinouda and Achelia.
Residents seeking further information can contact the municipality’s health service.
