The police have identified the driver who hit a 65-year-old on the motorway from Rizoelia to Kalo Chorio, in Larnaca, last week and drove a distance with the victim hanging onto his bonnet.

Police spokesman Vyron Vyronos told state TV that the driver was identified and an arrest warrant has been issued.

The vehicle appearing in a video posted on social media was also found and will be examined by the police.

The incident happened on May 6, when the 65-year-old approached a car following an accident to obtain details.

The other driver, on seeing a police patrol car arrive, fled the scene, hitting the 65-year-old.

Further down the motorway, the 65-year-old fell off the bonnet and suffered bruising and grazes.
