The island’s LGBTQIA+ film festival returns to Nicosia late this summer to present its seventh edition. Approaching soon, festival preparations are already underway as Queer Wave 2026 gets ready to open its doors again at NiMAC from September 18 to 27.

On its agenda this year is a unique mosaic of cinema, performance and special events. A ten-day programme will unfold with screenings and parallel events, bringing together local and international filmmakers, and providing a platform for LGBTQIA+ experiences and queer expression.

With just over a month to go, the official programme and pre-festival events will be announced shortly on the festival’s website (www.queerwave.com) and across the festival’s social media channels (@queerwavecyprus).

Since its launch in 2020, Queer Wave has offered over 250 Cyprus premieres of LGBTQIA+ films from the international scene over the past six years, while also supporting the work of Cypriot filmmakers and artists.
