The Republic of Cyprus is present at the high-level week of the UN General Assembly, with “a series of contacts scheduled as part of the effort to highlight issues that concern and affect our foreign policy”, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos said on Monday.

In a post on X, Kombos said “international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) must be fully respected.”

Kombos held a series of meetings in New York, including with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy Kaja Kallas and president and CEO of the International Institute of Peace prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, for a working dinner on the Middle East.
