The met department has issued an orange weather warning for severe storms starting from 7pm on Wednesday.

The warning will last until 5am on Thursday, with rainfall intensity expected to range between 55 and 70 millimetres per hour.

During the storms, there will be variable winds with strong gusts, and hail is also possible.
