In this video, stylist Kate Young takes us through her process for prepping a celebrity for a movie premiere.

Because premieres happen year-round, Young explains that she likes to use dresses from the runway. The moment she sees gowns that she think could work, she starts reserving them. At a runway show, she might even take a picture, immediately text it to the designer, and write: “hold this for me”.

Young also discusses a few standout pieces from over the years, including: a pale-blue tulle, yellow-embroidered spring 2017 Gucci dress worn by Sienna Miller to the premiere of ‘Live By Night’ in London; a red satin Dior dress worn by Selena Gomez to the ‘Rudderless’ premiere in Los Angeles; a black autumn 2019 Dior couture collection dress worn by Dakota Johnson to the premiere of ‘The Friend’ in Toronto; an orange autumn 2019 Oscar de la Renta dress worn by Margot Robbie to the ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ premiere in London.
