The outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020 has been disastrous for the cruising industry and global tourism, with uncertainty still plaguing the fate of its main players even as we head into summer of 2021.

Among the human personnel impacted by the hit dealt to the cruise industry, are its onboard performers. Those hired for their outstanding athleticism and creative abilities, as part of passengers’ many-tiered entertainment in between setting sail from, and dropping anchor at, a new port.

In this pre-Covid-19 video, we meet one such performer – Ariana Mazzagatti, the principal aerialist of Royal Caribbean’s massive ‘Symphony of the Seas’ cruise vessel – who reveals what it takes, mentally and physically to do eight shows a week, 11 months a year.
