Connecting with others hasn’t been the easiest of things during the past year. Genuine human connection, in-person connection with friends or strangers has been difficult to figure out with uncertainties about how to approach someone and start a conversation amidst masks, antiseptic gels and social distancing. One upcoming event at the World Without Borders Multispace hopes to create an evening full of conversation and connections.

“Computers have replaced live interaction, Zoom meetings took the place of beautiful moments and real connections have been messages on the internet!” say event organisers Giorgos Christoudias, Natalia Panagiotou and Marios Panagiotou. “World Without Borders as an advocate for true human connections launches Let’s Connect, a series of gatherings where we invite you to get to know one another, laugh and reconnect with those around us.”

Christoudias, the owner of the World Without Borders welcomed Natalia and Marios on board this September to work together for the vision of the multispace. Together they are planning several creative events, performances and gatherings at the venue in Old Nicosia. This first will take place on October 8 at 9pm.

The aim of the gathering is for people from all walks of life to meet and spark any kind of connection they seek, be it friendship, romance or just fun. How the evening will develop is a mystery as the organisers don’t want to reveal too much information as to what the event will entail. Come and find out, they say. They provide the space, the music, drinks, snacks and a good mood to get connections happening.

One thing they do mention is that guests will have the chance to meet plenty of people as each person will be sat opposite someone else, chat for a bit and when time’s up, they will move on to the next person. Ready, set, connect!
