Greek Cypriot arrested in north

File photo: The Ledra Palace crossing

A Greek Cypriot man was arrested in the north after he unlawfully attempted to cross from the Ledra Palace crossing point with his car.

According to Yeni Duzen, Turkish Cypriot authorities explained to the 34-year-old man that he was not allowed to cross in his vehicle from the specific crossing.

Only diplomatic vehicles are allowed to pass through Ledra Palace.

But the man drove forward, damaging the barrier. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
