The three main candidates for the presidency, joined by Elam’s Christos Christou, held their fourth televised debate on Thursday evening.

Christou, Disy’s Averof Neophytou, Akel’s Andreas Mavroyiannis, and independent candidate Nikos Christodoulides held the debate on CyBC.

Subjects covered included the Cyprus problem, the economy and domestic affairs. The candidates discussed inflation in particular, the issue of strategic loan defaulters, and the participation of women in the labour force.

The presidential elections will take place on February 5. If no candidate receives a majority of the vote, a runoff will be held a week later.
