A 38-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman appeared before the Paphos district court on Monday following their arrest on Sunday, when police found a large quantity of valuables, jewellery, electrical and electronic devices at their home.

According to Paphos police spokesperson Michalis Nicolaou, the court will announce a two-day remand of the two suspects on Tuesday at 10am. Until then, the two are to remain in custody.

Police raided the suspects’ house on Sunday following a tip off. During the search, they found several coin and stamp collections, a large quantity of gold and jewellery, 62 keys to apartment and hotel room doors, cameras, mobile phones, computers and electronic devices. All items were confiscated and will be kept for evidence.

Upon interrogation, the man and the woman failed to provide satisfactory explanations for the items found in the house and were arrested for the illegal possession of property.
