Limassol district court on Tuesday issued a three-day remand order against a 21-year-old man arrested in connection with a large drug seizure in Limassol on August 21.
The drugs were discovered in a car parked in an open area of Limassol. Officers seized approximately 10kg of cannabis, 60kg of ‘king gummies’ (sweets suspected to contain narcotics), about half a kilo of cannabis resin, 200 ecstasy tablets, 150g of cocaine and other small quantities of drugs.
The 21-year-old Limassol resident was apprehended on Monday night at Paphos airport upon his return to Cyprus from abroad.
Three others are already under arrest.
The first arrest was made on the same day, involving a 38-year-old, who, after a police check, was taken into custody. Further inquiries led to the arrest of a 21-year-old on August 22, followed by the arrest of a 23-year-old on August 29.
The Limassol district drug squad Ykan is currently further investigating the case.
