Three suspects involved in a large quantity drug case, were brought before the Limassol criminal court on Thursday.
The case involves two men aged 50 and 33 and a woman aged 32 who were remanded three weeks ago, for smuggling drugs outside the parking lot of a seaside hotel in Ayios Tychonas
Their hearing will be set for January 16, and until then they will be remanded in the central prison.
They are facing 24 charges for drug possession, trafficking, money laundering, and participation in a criminal organisation.
They were arrested in Limassol after police found a suitcase containing over 5.7 kilogrammes of cocaine and 5.6 kilogrammes of cannabis in a suitcase owned by one of the trio.
The car was stopped after the police saw its driver, the 33-year-old man, drive to meet the 50-year-old man and the woman. The 33-year-old then took a suitcase out of his car and then placed it into the woman’s car, before all three left the scene.
The drug squad YKAN found packages containing a total of 12 kilos of cannabis and approximately 6 kilos of cocaine in their possession and on their premises.
