A total of 51 traffic violations were recorded in Paphos during a 24-hour campaign aimed at crime prevention and reducing road accidents.

According to the police, members of the Paphos traffic department, in collaboration with the Paphos district police, conducted a coordinated operation. Between 7.00am on Sunday and 7.00am the following day, officers carried out 250 traffic checks, resulting in 51 citations.

Of these, six were for driving under the influence of alcohol and one for driving under the influence of drugs. The remaining violations included minor offences such as driving without a license, without registration, or without a helmet, as well as driving without lights and other infractions.

Police emphasised that similar coordinated operations will continue in the future to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic laws.
