Cyprus’ “fan card”, which allows holders to watch live football, will be integrated into the government’s “digital citizen” application, Digital Policy Deputy Minister Nicodemos Damianou announced on Wednesday.

Speaking after a meeting with Cyprus Sports Organisation (Koa) chairman Yiannis Ioannou, he said the move will “substantially facilitate controlled access to stadiums”, thus making sports fans feel safer and “combating the incidents of violence which plague our society”.
