A third person was arrested after 9pm on Monday in Larnaca to facilitate investigations into the January 9 attempted murder of a 30-year-old in Kornos.
The man, aged 24, is a foreigner residing permanently in Nicosia.
At noon on Monday, police arrested a 25-year-old man.
Both were arrested on pending warrants and will be taken before Larnaca district court on Tuesday for remand orders.
Another 24-year-old man was arrested on January 25 in a Nicosia village in connection with the same case.
He was taken before Larnaca district court on Sunday and remanded for eight days.
Multiple shots were fired in an outdoor area in the village on January 9, with a 30-year-old having been hospitalised after the incident, and having briefly been in a critical condition.
The police currently believe that at around 2pm on January 9, the 30-year-old visited an area in the village with the aim of meeting people over the sale of a car.
There, he was approached by a vehicle, with four men, two of whom were allegedly armed with pistols, getting out.
The 30-year-old attempted to escape, but was shot several times, suffering injuries to his hand and shoulder blade.
The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
