Where do you live?
I live in Nicosia with my husband

What did you have for breakfast?
Tea and toast.

Describe your perfect day
A perfect day for me would be to wake up in the morning and enjoy my breakfast, cook a nice meal for my family and in the afternoon spend time with my grandchildren and my children.

Best book ever read?
My favourite book is Plato, Not Prozac! by Lou Marinoff. I liked learning that there is wisdom and universal knowledge, which I can tap into during tough times.

Best childhood memory?
I remember my childhood years, spending endless hours at the sea near my village, which is Ayios Georgios of Kyrenia. I also remember the colours of Pentadaktylos mountain and the beautiful hues of the cyclamen and the vibrant red of the poppies, as well as the festivals and Easter traditions. I remember all the tones of blue in the sea and the sky.

What is always in your fridge?
I always have bread, cheese, butter and fruit in my fridge.

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
I listen to various genres, depending on my mood. Usually folk and rembetiko, even rock and songs in English.

What’s your spirit animal?
I identify with cats because they have dynamism and are independent and autonomous.

What are you most proud of?
I am proud of my children and the way I managed to navigate the various difficulties of my job.

What movie scene has really stayed with you?
I remember the movie Sophie’s Choice, starring Meryl Streep. In one scene, she was forced to choose which one of her children would be sent to the gas chamber and if she failed to choose, both would be killed.

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
I’d like to meet Marika Ninou because I love the way she sang rembetiko songs, at a time when it was extremely difficult to be a female singer.

If you could time travel when/where would you go?
I’d definitely travel to my village prior to the 1974 invasion and revisit my childhood.

What is your greatest fear?
That something bad will happen to people close to me.

What would you say to your 18-year-old self?
Possibly to study more at school.

Name the one thing that would stop you dating someone
I could never go out with anyone who is rude.

If the world is ending in 24 hours, what would you do?
I’d like to hug my family and grandchildren.
