The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) has issued a warning about counterfeit $100 US banknotes circulating in the market.

In its statement, the central bank urged both the public and businesses to “exercise caution when handling cash transactions”.

According to the announcement, the CBC said that “has become aware of fake $100 bills in circulation and is advising people to remain vigilant“.

Furthermore, the bank reminded the public that if they have any doubts regarding the authenticity of US dollar banknotes, they can verify their security features through the website of the Federal Reserve Bank.
