The forensic medical services reported on Tuesday that no external injuries were found during Monday’s examination of the 19-month-old child suspected of being violently shaken by a nursery teacher in Nicosia.

The kindergarten teacher is set to be interrogated in the coming days, as authorities continue their investigation into the allegations.

The father of the child in question filed a report at Omorfita police station on Sunday evening. In response, authorities launched a full investigation into the alleged incident.

A video surfaced on local media, allegedly showing the suspect shouting “What do you want, what do you want, I’ll throw you out the window.”

The nursery teacher has since been suspended.

The disturbing footage sparked concern over child safety in care facilities across the island as it follows a similar case of suspected child abuse at a nursery in Limassol reported the previous week.

Police and the social welfare service continue to investigate both cases.
