A 54-year-old man was arrested in Limassol on Friday after police discovered cannabis in his home and business premises.
According to the drug squad (YKAN), officers searching the suspect’s residence found eight nylon bags containing cannabis, a quantity of dried cannabis plant material, a precision scale, a vacuum-sealed plastic package with cannabis, and two cylindrical plastic containers also holding the drug.
In total, the confiscated cannabis weighed approximately 164g, police said. Additionally, 13 packages labeled as containing the banned substance tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) were seized.
Following his arrest on the spot, officers conducted a second search at a shop owned by the suspect.
There, they found 10 vacuum-sealed packages containing dried cannabis plant material weighing 50g along with 27 more packages labeled as containing THC.
The suspect was re-arrested and remains in custody as investigations continue.
