Limassol municipality has urged organisations, schools, businesses and community groups to contribute to its Easter care package initiative, which will be distributed through its ‘social grocery.’
“These packages aim to support our fellow citizens who are facing difficulties during these challenging times,” the municipality said in a statement.
The message, it added, was one of hope over the Easter holidays, giving the opportunity to all those in need “to celebrate with their families and not feel alone”.
The municipality is collecting essential food and hygiene items, including pasta, pulses, canned fish and meat, tinned fruit and vegetables, biscuits, chocolates, sweets, rusks, cereal, oil, coffee, sugar, flour, UHT milk, shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, toothbrushes, detergent, infant food and milk, nappies, wet wipes, and incontinence pads.
Donations will be accepted at the social grocery until April 11.
Those interested in donating can call 99728871 for more information on how to do so.
People can also help by giving vouchers for supermarkets, butcheries and other retailers or by making a donation to the Hellenic Bank account IBAN: CY43 0050 0214 0002 1401 G431 6907, BIC: HEBACY2N.
