Three people were arrested over an attack on a man who is being held in custody in the central prison, the police announced on Friday.
The men are aged 34, 28, and 26 years old, and are themselves all inmates at the central prison.
After being arrested, they were charged in writing, with the police currently treating the case as a possible attempted murder.
Their investigation into the matter is ongoing.
The incident had taken place on Monday, with the victim suffering injuries to “various parts” of his body which were “possibly caused by a sharp object”.
The man was transferred to the Nicosia general hospital, where his wounds were stitched up, before he was then transferred back to prison.
