Police arrested a 57-year-old man as a premeditated murder suspect on Sunday, after an altercation with another 66-year-old man at a cafe outside Nicosia turned violent.
The victim, Andreas Michaelides from Astromeritis was at a cafe on Saturday evening, when he argued with the suspect, 57. The suspect then hit the older man on the head, police said.

It is added that the 66-year-old visited the Peristerona Police Station where he reported the incident and was given a form for a medical examination with the intention of visiting a hospital for tests, however, during his transfer to a Private Hospital by a relative he lost consciousness and when he arrived at the hospital he was pronounced dead.
The 57-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Sunday on a court warrant and was held in custody to facilitate investigations, the police said.
A court later remanded him for eight days as the investigations continue.
