Customs officers confiscated banned pesticides and seeds found in a vehicle at the Astromeritis-Zodia crossing point, it was announced on Tuesday.
The inspection took place on April 25, when officials from the Customs Department stopped a vehicle and discovered seven containers of pesticides with a total volume of three litres, along with a 10kg package of planting seeds.
In a statement, the department said the products were not allowed to cross under the Green Line Regulation, which governs the movement of goods between the Republic-controlled south and the north of the island.
The items were seized and abandoned for destruction. The matter was settled out of court.
The Customs Department has not revealed the identity of the individual involved.
