A 47-year-old man was arrested in Limassol on Thursday after allegedly setting fire to rubbish bins on Ayia Fyla street.

Police said they received information about the incident and officers from the Limassol crime prevention unit rushed to the scene. The man was detained on the spot.

Further checks revealed that he was already wanted in connection with a burglary and theft case. According to investigators, a warrant had been issued for his arrest over the break-in of a home on March 27, during which a computer was stolen.

The suspect appeared before the Limassol court on Friday. The court issued a four-day remand order while police continue their investigation.
