The police on Sunday announced the arrest of a 29-year-old man who had been found to be in possession of cocaine and ecstasy.

The man was arrested at around 6pm on Saturday after being spotted by police in a parked car in Limassol.

As officers approached the car, they saw the man holding a “beige crystalline substance”, which later turned out to be about a gram ecstasy.

He was as such arrested, with police carrying out searches of his person and his vehicle.

That search turned up a further 2.5 grams of ecstasy, around eight grams of a “white solid substance”, around seven grams of a “pink powder” the police believe to be cocaine, around 37 grams of cannabis, and two precision scales containing a trace of a white powder which police also believe to be cocaine.

A subsequent search of his home found a further two grams of a white powder which is believed to be cocaine.

The man was arrested and taken into custody, while the police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
