Three people, aged 33, 27, and 25, were remanded for eight days on Tuesday following their arrest on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation into aiding illegal entry and facilitating the stay of undocumented immigrants in Cyprus.
The Nicosia district court heard that at around 9.30pm on Sunday, police were informed that a group of migrants had crossed from the north through an uncontrolled point in the Nicosia district.
Police officers located ten individuals who were in Cyprus illegally. They were arrested and taken to the Pera Chorio police station.
Investigations led to testimony implicating the three suspects in assisting third-country nationals to enter and remain illegally in Cyprus.
Police investigations are ongoing.
