A 29-year-old man was arrested on Sunday night after allegedly stabbing a 25-year-old man in the back in Larnaca, the police said on Monday.
The police said they were informed at around 8pm on Sunday of a man who had suffered “a back injury which appeared to have been caused by a sharp object”.
He was then taken to the Larnaca general hospital, where he is now undergoing treatment. Doctors have described his condition as “serious but stable”.
Later in the evening, officers located the 29-year-old man, and, according to the police, he said he had been arguing with the 25-year-old, and that that argument had resulted in him being injured.
The 29-year-old was arrested shortly before 10.30pm on Sunday.
The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
