A 23-year-old man was remanded for four days on Monday after his arrest in Larnaca on Sunday in connection with a house burglary and the theft of a shotgun and air pistol in early August.

Police took the suspect into custody shortly after 5pm under a court warrant following new evidence uncovered by investigators.

The two weapons were recovered during coordinated searches and seized as evidence.

The 23-year-old appeared before the Larnaca district court on Monday, which issued the remand order.

A 21-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the case on Saturday and remanded in custody for six days.

Aradippou police are continuing the investigation.
