A 25-year-old Limassol man was remanded for four days on Tuesday by the Limassol district court in connection with a series of incidents involving motorcycle theft, assault, threats, knife possession and attacking a police officer.

At around 4pm on Monday, police received a tip about an unknown person pushing a motorcycle that had been reported stolen days earlier.

Before officers arrived, the complainant allegedly approached the man in a friendly manner, after which the suspect attacked and threatened him with a knife.

When police arrived at the scene, the suspect reportedly also attacked the complainant’s friend, leading to his immediate arrest. During the arrest, he also reportedly attacked police officers.

A body search revealed the suspect was carrying a knife, which was confiscated.

The man appeared before the Limassol district court on Tuesday morning.
