Police recovered a large amount of stolen property in Nicosia on Tuesday night, linked to a gang involved in a series of burglaries and thefts, the police said on Wednesday.

Three suspects – two 48-year-olds and a 38-year-old – have been remanded for eight days to facilitate the ongoing investigation.

Police said the Nicosia residence, where the loot was found, was being used by one of the suspects.

Officers seized jewellery, designer handbags, perfumes, cash and numerous other items, during the search.

Limassol deputy police director Lefteris Kyriakou said the suspects had been using specialised burglary tools to break into homes and had been monitoring specific targets and areas with cameras.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities are assessing the full extent of the stolen property.
